Padel Trend Expo: over 18,000 attendees in Milan for the first major italian event dedicated to the Padel universe

The great international padel community gathered in Milan at the Allianz MiCo from 13 to 15 January. A unique three-day event dedicated to sport, business and entertainment organized by Next Group in collaboration with the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation.

The Padel Trend Expo program was very rich (entertainment, shopping, tournaments and conferences) and involved over 18,000 people, “only” 2,000 of which engaged by the organizers (6 fields were set up on purpose for the event), who had the opportunity to participate to the many clinics created by international coaches such as Martin Echegaray, Marcela Ferrari, Maxi Castellote, and Gustavo Spector, and were also able to try out the new collections of rackets, made available by the several top brands taking part in the fair.

Organized by Next Group in collaboration with the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation and the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, the “fair” was attended by over 90 exhibitors and was literally besieged by enthusiasts who were able to meet, see in action and even play with world champions and international pros such as Martin Di Nenno, Miguel Yanguas, Gonzalo Rubio, Mati Diaz, Veronica Virseda, Jessica Castello, Luca Bergamini, Tolito Aguirre (his plays were spectacular), Juan Restivo, Alvaro Montiel, and many others.

Some ex-footballers certainly could not be missing (Candela, Di Biagio, Maini, Locatelli, Amoruso, Panucci, Adani, Toni, Fiore, and Giannichedda): led by Bobo Vieri and his Italy Padel Tour tournament, they played in front of the hundreds of people who packed the stands. The tournament was won by the couple formed by Toni and Locatelli.

Inclusion was an important feature of the Padel Mixto European event (pairs were formed by one able-bodied player and one in a wheelchair). Players from 5 nations and Oscar Agea, the strongest Spanish player in the world, took part in this event, organized by the non-profit organization Sportinsieme and supported by the Entain Foundation.

The fields hosted also funny shows and unprecedented matches with the participation of Cabrini, Barzagli, Jimmy Ghione, Moreno Morello, Cambiasso, Junior Cally, Hugo Sconochini, Claudio Coldebella, Paul Griffen, Damiano Pippi, Mark Iuliano, Alberto Cisolla, Claudio Galli, Davide Silvestri, Francesco Oppini, Cristian Zenoni, and TikTokers Nunzio Fresi and Tommaso Donadoni.

“We are proud and satisfied that in a year we managed to turn a bet into reality. It was simply incredible and exciting to see the many happy exhibitors and the attendees participate in the several activities organized by our tireless team” declared Marco Jannarelli, President of Next Group.

“I want to share this success with everyone, starting with the companies that believed in us and were repaid by so much turnout that gives us hope for the next edition in 2024 which will be even richer and will offer many new features” added Luigi Spera, General Manager of Padel Trend Expo.
