Who are we looking for
We are seeking an HSE Officer to support our Operations team in Rome, focusing on health and safety management activities and document coordination related to contractors and suppliers.
The Role
The HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Officer is responsible for workplace health and safety as well as environmental protection within the company.
Your mission will be to:

prevent injuries and occupational illnesses

ensure compliance with safety regulations

reduce the environmental impact of company activities
You will assess risks, define safe procedures, oversee training and controls, and manage aspects such as waste, emissions, and hazardous substances.
In short: you will help the company operate safely, legally, and sustainably.
What you will do / Responsibilities
You will be part of the Operations team, supporting technical and document coordination activities.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:

Collecting and verifying documentation from subcontractors and external companies

Assessing technical and professional suitability in accordance with Art. 26 of Legislative Decree 81/08
-
Managing deadlines and maintaining HSE documentation archives

Reviewing safety documentation (Risk Assessment Documents, Safety Plans, certificates, medical fitness records, equipment documentation, inspection reports, DURC, chamber of commerce extracts, etc.)

Identifying non-conformities and preparing control checklists
-
Supporting the client in fulfilling legal obligations related to contracts and subcontracting
-
Conducting site inspections to analyze activities and potential interferences
-
Identifying interference-related risks
-
Drafting, updating, and managing DUVRI documentation
-
Coordinating with RSPP, Occupational Health Doctors, Supervisors, HSE staff, and technical offices
-
Providing support during audits, inspections, and compliance checks
Skills & Requirements
-
Excellent knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations: Legislative Decree 81/08 and amendments, particularly Art. 26 (contracts and technical-professional qualification), Annex XVII

Understanding of risk assessment principles and interference risks
-
Proven expertise in managing DUVRI documentation: interference analysis, prevention measures, coordination, drafting and updates
-
Ability to analyze HSE documentation and identify non-compliance issues
-
Experience in verifying contractor documentation (DVR, POS, DURC, chamber of commerce extracts, training certificates, medical fitness, certifications, equipment reports)
At least 2 years of experience in one of the following fields:

HSE Department
-
Workplace safety consultancy
-
Contractor/supplier management
-
Construction sites or industrial environments
Additional requirements:

Experience managing relationships with contractors, RSPP, Occupational Doctors, Supervisors, and Clients
-
Excellent command of Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and digital document archiving systems
-
English proficiency at least at B2 level
Preferred Qualifications
-
Knowledge of Legislative Decree 231/01
-
Familiarity with environmental regulations and construction site safety law (Title IV)
-
Experience using HSE software, supplier qualification platforms, or document management systems.
